About Our Work

*Please note: Dr. Frazier is no longer accepting new students for FIU’s clinical or ASCP psychology programs.

Team NAFASI is committed to a program of mental health services research that examines capacity building in non-specialty settings to facilitate healthy trajectories for children and families living in communities of concentrated urban poverty. We develop and test feasible, responsive, and effective community mental health models that align with the mission, goals, and core technology of schools and after school programs by leveraging the people, places, and tools that naturally support them. Our research initiatives are as diverse as our staff and the families we serve, but we hold in common the goal of understanding how best to utilize, implement, and disseminate knowledge generated through clinical psychological research to build resilience and minimize risks for historically underserved and underrepresented, ethnically and racially diverse families.

Former and current team members reunited at the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT) annual convention, which took place November 2018 in Washington, D.C. This was taken at the Dissemination & Implementation Science Special Interest Group (DIS SIG) pre-conference.
