Completed Research

Peer-Assisted Social Learning (PASL) – Completed May 2015
PASL is an adaptation of an evidence-based practice called Peer-Assisted Learning (PALs) that targets youth social competence. PASL is currently in the data collection phase, and is being conducted by Sarah Helseth in collaboration with Branches South Miami, a community-based after-school program that serves low-income children and families. The goal of this research is to improve children’s social skills (i.e., communication, emotion regulation, and social problem-solving) to promote social competence and increase social support.

SiHLE-YFC – Completed May 2015
SiHLE-YFC is an adaptation of the evidence-based intervention SiHLE for youth in or at-risk for foster care. SiHLE-YFC is currently in the data collection phase, and is being conducted by Maya Boustani in collaboration with Miami Bridge South. The goal of the project is to improve outcomes for at-risk youth in the domains of problem-solving, communication, and reproductive health.
